Institutes of Higher Education (IHE) can now apply for grants through the Pennsylvania Department of Education to help combat hunger.
Last year, 30 IHE and private licensed schools saw parts of a $1 million grant to provide access to healthy and nutritious food.
The Pennsylvania Hunger Free Initiative is now accepting applications for until September 23. The grant is available to apply for through the Pennsylvania eGrants website.
Amounts for grants will vary on the size of the institution.
- $20,000 for institutions with 3,000 or fewer learners;
- $40,000 for institutions with 3,001 to 7,000 learners; and
- $60,000 for institutions with 7,001 learners or more.
