If the extreme cold weather has you worried about how you’ll pay your heating bills, a state program can help.
The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, or LIHEAP, helps low-income families through a cash grant sent directly to the utility company.
The program is run through the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services and you can apply online, over the phone (LIHEAP hotline is 1-866-857-7095, open Monday through Friday. Individuals with hearing impairments may call 711), or in person at your local county assistance office.
The Butler County Assistance Office is located on Woody Drive inside the Pullman Plaza. Office hours are 7:30 am. to 5 p.m. on weekdays.
