
Pennsylvania State Police are alerting car owners of vehicle break-ins.
According to a release, these break-ins have been seen throughout the United States and targets women and have cost women thousands of dollars. The vehicle break-ins are reported to happen at gyms, shopping centers, state parks, movie theaters, funeral homes, and hotels.
The thieves break-in and steal credit and debit cards, checkbooks, IDs, electronics and more. They commit the thefts by sitting in parking lots observing potential victims that will be away from their vehicles for extended period.
To protect yourself state police, say to keep your doors lock, park in visible well-lit areas, do not store valuables in the consoles or glove boxes, and place store purchases in the trunk. If you are a victim of this crime file a police report.
If you see suspicious activity in a parking lot, such as people walking up and down a lot, vehicles driving around at slow speeds, or people on scooters and bikes observing vehicles you are asked to report it.
