The State Police of Troop D, which include the barracks of Butler, Mercer, Armstrong, New Castle, and Beaver, will be conducting roving and stationary DUI patrols in our area this July 4th weekend.
The State Police also advise motorists to be aware of their surroundings, and to have their license, registrations, and insurance cards readily available to make for quicker checkpoints. Motorists are also encouraged to drive sober, or to have a designated driver.
Troop D officials say that they have already conducted one stationary checkpoint from 9pm Saturday night to 2am Sunday morning in Buffalo Township, just off of Exit 17 of Route 28 North.
Officials say during that patrol, they totaled 11 DUI arrests, along with 14 traffic citations and nine warnings.
