State Police will look into the Butler Area School District’s response after unsafe levels of lead were found in the water at Summit Township Elementary School to determine if any actions were criminal.
Butler County District Attorney Rich Goldinger told our news partners at WPXI-TV that he received a letter from the district’s solicitor asking for his office to determine if any criminal activity had occurred at the school or in the district. Goldinger referred the case to State Police in Butler. An investigator will be assigned to look into the matter.
The officer will report any findings to the district attorney, who will then determine whether criminal charges would be filed.
