One person has died after a head-on crash in the northern part of Butler County that occurred late Saturday morning.
According to the State Police, Richard Duncan was traveling westbound on New Castle Road (Rt. 422) in Prospect when his Toyota Corolla crossed into the eastbound lane just before 11:30am. Duncan then struck a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction head-on at an unknown speed.
Authorities say that Duncan was pronounced dead at the scene. A 75-year-old Butler woman, who was the driver of the other car, was life-flighted to a Pittsburgh hospital with unknown injuries. Her passenger, a 75-year-old Butler man, was taken to a local hospital by ambulance.
The police investigation into the crash is ongoing.
