A tentative agreement has been reached between Pennsylvania’s 14 state-owned universities and the union representing university faculty.
The Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education and the Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties announced the agreement Tuesday, more than eight months before the existing contract is set to expire. The two sides say they will announce publicly what’s in the agreement once the board of governors approves it and the union membership ratifies it.
Almost exactly one year ago, the union went on strike after contract negotiations failed. An agreement was reached three days later.
The union represents about 450 employees at Slippery Rock University in Butler County.
