Millions of dollars in grants are available from the state of Pennsylvania to help local fire companies pay for expenses, like new radios.
According to State Fire Commissioner Tim Solobay, $30 million will be awarded to volunteer EMS as well as volunteer and career fire departments through the Fire Company/Volunteer Ambulance Service Grant Program.
Grant awards can be used for construction or repair of facilities, purchase or repair of equipment, debt reduction and training. The grant program began in the year 2000 and is funded with gaming revenue.
The grant application process is almost entirely electronic and payment disbursement is fully automated which saves time and money. To learn more about this program, visit OSFC.pa.gov.
