As part of Pennsylvania’s Local Government Week, Butler Township gathered its staff and equipment and opened its doors for an Open House on Wednesday.
Butler Township Commissioner Dave Zarnick was there:
“Butler Township is doing well,” Zarnick said. “We’ve positioned ourselves good for now and in the future.”
Township residents stopped by the Butler Township Municipal Building on South Duffy Road to visit with the five commissioners, township police officers and firefighters, and learn about upcoming programs and opportunities.
Zarnick noted the township did not have to raise taxes this year, which they haven’t done for some eight-plus years.
“We live within our means,” he said.
Butler Township is one of only two townships in the county to be named a “Banner Community” by the Allegheny League of Municipalities. Cranberry Township is the other one.
