While Congressional redistricting has taken center stage over the past couple of weeks, there’s also redistricting happening at the state house and senate levels.
A new map was proposed by a committee made up of two Democrats and two Republicans along with former Pitt chancellor Mark Nordenberg.
The proposed map for the state house was met with sharp objections by Republicans, who say it favors Democrats.
Meanwhile the proposed state Senate map was approved unanimously by the committee.
It still has a long way to go before it could be officially enacted according to political experts.
