Statewide budget hearings have come to an end, meaning negotiations are starting to ramp up.
Governor Josh Shapiro is proposing a $44 billion state budget.
The last three weeks was spent by lawmakers looking at all parts of the proposal. Republican State Representative Seth Grove said the hearings were productive, and is hoping for a good budget negotiation process.
“The tone was brought down over the last three weeks. We focused on policy, on finance, and budget. Hopefully that will continue as we move forward,” Grove said.
The budget must be in place by July 1st.
