The end could be in sight for the ongoing state budget stalemate.
According to State Senator Scott Hutchinson, House Bill 1801 was approved by the full Senate on Wednesday. The bill is a $30 billion spending plan that restores much of the $6 billion in funds that were line-item vetoed by Governor Tom Wolf in December.
Hutchinson claims that the new proposal contains a modest increase for education without increasing taxes. The bill would also restore funding for agricultural extension services and 4-H programs.
The bill will move to the governor’s desk for consideration as soon as Thursday.
