Hundreds of Slippery Rock University employees have new contracts.
The Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education approved collective bargaining agreements with four unions Thursday. The unions represent 4,5000 employees across state universities and 345 employees at SRU…in departments including admissions, financial aid, residence life, career services, the health center, social workers, counselors, clerical and maintenance staff.
Employees will receive pay increases of either 2.25 or 2.5 percent, and most employees won’t have to pay more for health care. Nurses are under a different health care plan.
The agreements are for one year and go into effect in January.
One union contract remains unresolved. Negotiations continue with the Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties, which represents faculty and athletic coaches separately.
