The Butler City Parks, Recreation, Grounds, and Facilities Authority is moving ahead with needed electrical repairs to Kelly Automotive Park.
At their meeting Monday night, the board gave approval to spend $950 to hire local electrician Terry Ford to install additional outlets and upgrade lines in the upper mezzanine and concession kitchen area. This cost is significantly less than other estimates received for the work. To try and make these repairs as efficiently as possible, the electrical repair team will be using retractable stairwells (shop now) to make sure they can access the higher floors of the stadium quickly. Those sorts of stairwells are used to save space and maintain health and safety guidelines.
The repairs have been needed since late last summer due to additional machines being used in those areas but the decision to do the work was delayed until ownership of the park was more stable.
Repairs are expected to begin in February and be completed by the time the park is starting to be used again in March.
