Slippery Rock University senior offensive lineman Cory Tucker (South Park, Pa./South Park) was one of 25 players named to the 2015 American Football Coaches Association Division II All-America team that was announced Thursday morning.
Tucker, a redshirt senior from South Park, Pa., is one of just five offensive linemen in the nation to be named to the AFCA All-America team and one of just four players from Super Region One. Tucker finished his collegiate career this fall as one of the most decorated offensive linemen in Slippery Rock program history. He finished third in the national voting for the Gene Upshaw Division II Lineman of the Year award and was a national finalist for the honor second year in a row.
Tucker started 48 straight games at right tackle for Slippery Rock, helping pave the way for one of the top offensive units in the country over the last four years. Tucker was previously named to first team All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division honors and was named to first team All-Region honors by the Conference Commissioner’s Association earlier this fall. He is a three-time All-PSAC selection.
This marks the fourth career All-America honor for Tucker, who was also named to the 2014 D2football.com and Beyond Sports Network All-America teams, as well as the 2013 Beyond Sports Network team.
Tucker is the first AFCA All-American for Slippery Rock since 2010 when Brandon Fusco was named to the team.

Alabama running back Derrick Henry won numerous annual awards that were announced Thursday, inclung the Maxwell and Walter Camp Awards as the player of the year. Henry also won the Doak Walker Award as best running back. Henry is up for the Heisman Trophy which will be announced Saturday night in New York City.
The University of Pittsburgh has extended the contract of head football coach Pat Narduzzi two years. The extension is added to the current contract Narduzzi signed when he was hired a year ago. It will keep him under contract with the Panthers through the 2021 season. Narduzzi led Pitt to an 8-4 record this season, and the team will play Navy December 28th in the Military Bowl in Annapolis.
