Slippery Rock University senior quarterback Roland Rivers III has been named the winner of the Harlon Hill Trophy, given to Division II College Football Player of the Year.
Rivers III set SRU single-season records for completions, passing yards, passing touchdowns and total offense over their 14 games. He also set or tied NCAA Division II single-season records for touchdowns responsible for, points responsible for and most games with at least three touchdown passes with 11.
Rivers III is the first SRU player to win the award and fifth player from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference to be honored.
