The NCAA this week that Slippery Rock University’s Homecoming football game October 14th against rival Indiana University of Pa. will stream nationally on ESPN3 and the ESPN app as part of the NCAA Division II Football Showcase for the 2017 season.
This marks the second time in the last three years that Slippery Rock has been chosen as a host site for one of the NCAA Football Showcase games after The Rock hosted East Stroudsburg in the Game of the Week in 2015.

Kickoff for the game, which is the only home sporting event scheduled for October 14th at SRU, will be set at 2:06pm via ESPN3 online and the ESPN app will have exclusive streaming rights for the game.
The 2017 meeting between the two teams will mark the first time SRU has hosted its biggest rival on Homecoming since 1994. The Rock have won five of the last eight meetings in the series and have won the last four home games in the series. The last IUP win at SRU came in 2007.
Slippery Rock is coming off a 7-4 record last fall in which the team failed to reach the NCAA playoffs for the first time in four years. Indiana, ranked No. 5 in the Lindy’s Sports Division II preseason national poll this summer, went 10-2 last year and reached the second round of the NCAA playoffs before bowing out to California (Pa.).
