Authorities say a Slippery Rock University student died following a hunting accident over the weekend.
According to our news partners at WPXI, 19-year-old Jacob Smith of Linesville was hunting with friends near Conneaut Lake Park in Crawford County on Saturday morning around 8:30.
Police say Smith was removing items from a hunting sled when his shotgun accidentally went off and hit him in the abdomen.
He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Smith was a sophomore at Slippery Rock.
