Chaquille Pratt scored 24 points and grabbed eight rebounds while Malcolm Richardson and Naquil Jones both scored 10 points as the Slippery Rock University men’s basketball team erased an 11-point deficit to defeat California (Pa.), 61-56, Saturday night in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division play at Morrow Field House. The victory, which snapped SRU’s four-game losing streak, evened Slippery Rock’s overall record on the season to 9-9 while improving its PSAC West mark to 4-8.
The Rock women fell to Cal 64-52 and fell to 8-9 overall.
The Duquesne Dukes had a 15-game winning streak snapped Sunday when they fell to George Washington 70-52 at the Palumbo Center. The Dukes fell to 16-2 and drop to second place in the Atlantic 10 conference.
