Slippery Rock University will receive state grant funding towards the construction of a new building on campus.
SRU has planned to build a new facility on the north side of the campus to accommodate the University Police Department along with SRU’s Army ROTC program.
The state’s Office of the Budget will use the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program to provide $750,000 to be combined with an equal match from SRU for the first phase of the project.
Since the total cost of the project is at least $3 million, SRU will apply for another RACP grant next year to help with the rest of the funding that will include a new parking lot and road behind Smith Student Center.
