Slippery Rock University is reminding drone owners that they must get permission before they fly on campus.
The university’s drone policy was established back in 2012, but it’s become more important now than ever because of the growing popularity of drones and other unmanned flying objects.
Flying a drone on or over SRU requires prior authorization, including proof of a license and insurance.
School officials say their main concern is obviously people’s safety on the ground. Privacy issues are also involved.
You can submit a request for authorization to conduct a drone flight on campus online.
