Slippery Rock University quarterback Don King, III has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division Offensive Athlete of the Week after putting up some of the best passing numbers in the history of the PSAC in The Rock’s victory over East Stroudsburg last Saturday. King, III threw for SRU records of 527 yards and seven touchdowns on just 38 pass attempts in leading SRU to a 57-15 win. The yards were eighth-best in state history and broke the Slippery Rock program record set by John Linhart in 1992. The touchdown mark broke a record set by Nigel Barksdale in 2013, and is the fourth-best mark in state history. The Penn State football team is not only ranked in the top 10 in the nation, but have a shot at playing in the Big Ten championship game December 3rd. Penn State will need to win their final two games against Rutgers and Michigan State, and will need an Ohio State victory over Michigan for that to happen.
The New York Giants defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 21-20 last night in Monday Night Football. The Bengals fell to 3-5-1 overall, and their loss kept the Steelers in second place in the AFC North, one game behind first-place Baltimore.
