Slippery Rock University President Dr. William Behre has announced that he plans to retire over a year from now.
Behre recently notified the SRU Council of Trustees as well as the leadership of the PA State System of Higher Education that his retirement will be effective June 30th, 2023.
One of Behre’s chief accomplishments has been to shift attention from traditional concerns to dealing with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The search process for the University’s next president is expected to begin in the coming weeks.
Behre was appointed as the 17th president of Slippery Rock University in 2018. Following retirement, Behre plans to move with his wife to Maine.
