Slippery Rock University has made a hire to lead their new College of Health Professions while also honoring employees who have gone above and beyond their job responsibilities.
Last week, SRU administrators announced the hiring of Christine Karshin as the dean of the College of Health Professions. Karshin is currently the associate dean of Eastern Michigan University’s College of Health and Human Services and will begin at SRU on June 21st. This selection concludes the efforts of a search committee made up of SRU faculty, staff, and students.
Earlier this week, SRU recognized three employees with President’s Awards for Outstanding Service. Director of Housing Daniel Brown, Registered Nurse Supervisor of Student Health Services Lenora Karenbauer, and Associate Professor of Psychology Emily Keener were selected for the honor by members of the President’s cabinet after a review of nominations by supervisors. Other SRU employees were recognized with milestone awards for years of service to the school including six who have been at SRU for 35 years.
