Slippery Rock University is hosting an evening with a Pittsburgh author later this week.
The annual Common Read event sponsored by the SRU English Department is planned for 7 p.m. Thursday at the Miller Theater in the Performing Arts Center.
More than 1,300 SRU students have been assigned to read “The Secret Lives of Church Ladies” by Deesha Philyaw this year. The evening will include Philyaw reading an excerpt from her award winning fictional text as well as signing copies afterwards.
The public is invited to attend this free gathering through online registration on the SRU website.
