Slippery Rock University has been honored for its contribution to the local community and commitment to education.
The university will be presented with the 2016 Business Champion Award by the Butler County Chamber of Commerce at the Chamber’s ‘Celebrate Business’ dinner on September 14 at the University’s Smith Student Center.
The business champion award is based on such criteria including unique initiatives, investment in Butler County, innovative approaches, employee commitment and future plans.
Slippery Rock has invested back into Butler County through many programs such as the Regional Learning Alliance and new academic offerings in areas like homeland security and natural gas engineering.
