Former Slippery Rock University pitcher Lou Trivino has been called up to the major league’s by the Oakland Athletics. He began the season with Triple-A Nashville, where he had a save and a perfect 0.00 ERA in three games. He had eight strikeouts and did not walk a batter. Trivino joins Matt Adams of the Washington Nationals. SRU is the only school in the PSAC to have two former players at the major league level.
Trivino made his debut in the ninth inning last night in the A’s 10-2 victory over the Chicago White Sox. He allowed two hits and a walk, but did not allow a run. Trivino struck out two in the inning, including the final batter to end the game.
