The Slippery Rock University football team has been ranked second in the first Regional Rankings that were released Monday. The top seven teams in Super Region One will make the NCAA playoffs. The Rock, who are 8-0 this season, would begin with a home game if they remain in that position. Slippery Rock will host California Saturday at 1pm, with the opportunity to clinch the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West Division with a victory.
Kutztown is the top seed in the first Regional Rankings. The #1 seed earns a first-round “bye” to begin the playoffs. IUP is ranked fourth in the regional rankings. West Chester is sixth.
In the latest American Football Coaches Association rankings, The Rock fell one spot to #10 in the nation. They had been tied for 9th last week.
