Slippery Rock University quarterback Brayden Long was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division Offensive Athlete of the Week after he threw three touchdown passes and ran for another in The Rock’s 33-32 victory over IUP Saturday. Long also became just the fifth SRU quarterback to throw for 5,000 career yards during the game, despite making only 20 starts in his career, so far. Long has thrown 45 touchdowns in his career and just seven interceptions.
The Rock moved up three spots to #6 in the nation after last weekend’s victory after three previous top-10 teams in the nation lost. Reigning PSAC champion Kutztown also moved up three spots this week to #5 this week. IUP remains ranked despite their loss to The Rock, slipping from #21 to #25.
Hear the Slippery Rock vs Gannon Homecoming game this Saturday (10/12/24) from Mihalik-Thompson Stadium beginning at 12:30pm on The Rock Station 97.7fm and at 977rocks.com
