Under some very wet 4th quarter conditions at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium, the Slippery Rock University football team held off PSAC West Rival Indiana University of Pennsylvania for a 40-39 win Saturday night.
The Rock, which was ranked #15 in the nation going into Saturday’s game, jumped out to a 9-0 lead within the first four minutes of the game thanks to a 26-yard quarterback keeper by Dante Nania and a safety.
Offensively for the Rock, they were led by Nania, who finished with 241 yards passing on 21 completions with one touchdown, in addition to running for another 32 yards and a score. Running back Shamar Greene finished with 192 yards (a 4.8 avg) and one score, and running back Julian Durden scored twice for Slippery Rock.
