Slippery Rock took home the top honor in the national contest for football program cover design, special event program cover design and overall special event program for the Big House Battle program. The Rock also finished second in the national voting for overall football programs and single-sport programs.
Jon Holtz, director of athletic communication, designed the layout and covers of all game programs and provided all written content for the football programs and the Big House Battle program. Assistant director Tyler McIntosh and graduate assistant James Tinkey teamed with Holtz to provide content for the majority of the other sport programs throughout the year.
The CoSIDA honors announced Tuesday mark the second time “best in the nation” honors have been bestowed upon the SRU athletic communication staff for excellence in publications this year. Earlier this spring the Big House Battle program was recognized as a “Gold Winner” by the Collegiate Advertising Awards.
