Students at Slippery Rock University will be able to take advantage of new fitness equipment this fall.
The Aebersold Student Recreation Center is retiring all 16 of its former stationary bikes and replacing them with 21 new spin bikes.
The new bikes are more accommodating, easier to adjust, and allow for a more realistic simulation of outdoor riding experiences, officials say. The bikes will be used by the center’s spinning program, which is more intense and burns more calories than a traditional stationary bike workout.
The center will also be opening a new family changing room that will be able to accommodate participants of the University’s adaptive physical activity programs.
