The Cranberry Township Community Chest has announced its 2017 Project of the Year will be SportCourts at Graham Park.
The SportCourts will be located near the entrance of the park and include areas for different court games, many the first of their kind in Cranberry, along with a community garden. The exact number of courts will be determined by how much money is raised but the current plan is for eight pickleball courts, four tennis courts, two basketball courts, three bocce courts, two shuffleboard courts, two horseshoe courts and two cornhole courts.
Organizers say this will be the largest community chest project of the year ever undertaken, with an estimated budget of $750,000.
Fundraising will officially kick off during the Cranberry Township Community Chest Community Days July 7-9.
