PennDOT has reduced the speed limits on several area roadways Monday morning due to the bad weather conditions. As weather conditions continue to get worse, it is important that these reduced speed limits are followed by drivers because if they aren’t then they are a danger to themselves and the people around them.
The speed limit has been reduced to 45 miles per hour on Interstates 79, 279 and 376; and Route 28. Police will be patrolling this area to try and encourage people to follow these new limits and giving a ticket to anyone that is choosing to ignore them.
PennDOT says they are out continuing to treat roadways but advise motorists to stay off the roads if they can.
The bad weather conditions are affecting even those who are going the speed limit as some are getting into accidents with those who are speeding. If you have been in an accident involving a speeding car then you may be entitled to compensation. Contact a law firm like these car accident lawyers in Ft. Lauderdale to see if you can make a claim.
Also, the speed limit on the PA Turnpike west of Somerset has been reduced to 45 miles per hour.
