The Pennsylvania Department of Education is offering funding to go toward learning opportunities for special education teachers.
$1.5 million in Developing Future Special Educators grants are available to local education agencies including school districts, approved private schools, career technical education centers, charter schools, and intermediate units.
Those interested must design and implement up to three experiential learning opportunities for secondary or postsecondary students in order to provide information about career pathways in the field of special education. The maximum grant award is $20,000 with an online application deadline of June 10th.
A grant overview webinar will be held tomorrow (Monday) from noon to 1 p.m. to provide more information about the application process. The Zoom session will be recorded and made available for later viewing.
