The South Butler School District is engaging with a regional STEM program to instill an interest in this area with students at an early age.
The ABC Create program is a collaborative of 15 schools in the area who gather and share information with a goal of modeling innovative programs and improving professional development.
By sharing resources and working toward a consistency and continuity between grades, the ABC Create STEM program tries to prepare kids for available jobs while keeping learning fun. The program is affiliated with local institutions like Carnegie Mellon and Penn State New Kensington.
The district plans on analyzing the information they receive from the program and rolling it out later on this year and at the beginning of next year.
