Students and staff at South Butler Middle and High Schools were evacuated Friday afternoon due to a threat to student safety.
According to the district’s website, the unspecified threat was discovered by administrators and investigated by school police.
The threat was determined to not be credible but just to be safe, an evacuation of the buildings to the district’s stadium was ordered to allow for a full and complete search of the buildings. No suspicious or dangerous items were found so students and staff were allowed to return to finish class for the rest of the day.
All after-school activities will continue as planned.
