The first of three scheduled South Butler teachers’ contract negotiations sessions will take place tonight.
Three or four members of the South Butler County School Board will meet with representatives of the South Butler County Education Association bargaining unit at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the administration building.
According to solicitor Tom Breth, the board will have a full and complete proposal ready to present to the teachers tonight. Breth called the union setting a strike date of March 15th if no progress is made “unfortunate” but “the board’s principles and goals in these negotiations haven’t changed.”
Two additional sessions are planned for the evenings of Monday, March 12th and Tuesday, March 13th also at 7 p.m. Two board members have recused themselves due to conflicts of interest but the other seven have participated in the negotiation process.
