The South Butler School Board has suspended a program that offered foreign travel to students.
On recommendation from district administration, the board suspended the German American Partnership summer travel program for the 2016-17 school year.
According to South Butler Superintendent Dr. David Zupsic, the reasons for suspending the program included the former sponsor of the program no longer being able to organize the trips as well as concerns about the safety of conditions in Europe.
South Butler has offered this program to students for the past 38 years with the exception of the time immediately following September 11, 2001.
