The South Butler School Board has decided to readmit all six students who were expelled last summer for violating the district’s drug policy.
The unnamed students were expelled last July and August after several students used marijuana at another location before going to class on the last day of school, according to a speaker at the July meeting. District administrators would not confirm or deny specifics of the incident but did say that they now consider the matter closed.
South Butler administrators recommended the readmission- scheduled for Jan. 23- following hearings for the students held before Wednesday’s meeting.
The students were given the choice to attend an Adelphoi Educational support program or the district’s cyber school during their semester expulsion.
