Teachers in the South Butler County School District remain on strike.
No negotiating sessions between the school board and the teachers union have been scheduled. The teachers went on strike last Thursday after the two sides couldn’t come to an agreement. The major sticking points are wages and healthcare coverage.
Brooke Witt, the negotiator for the teachers union, said the Pennsylvania Department of Education has mandated that the teachers return to the classroom by April 3.
According to state law, students must have 180 days of instruction by June 15.
