It’s official! The South Butler County School District is now the Knoch School District.
Although it’s been a topic of discussion for many years, administration and school board members began the process of changing the district’s name with a vote in December of 2019.
A vote in March of this year officially changed the district’s name July 1st in order to align it with high school’s name.
In between, the process also included a change in state law spearheaded by Representative Marci Mustello, which now allows school boards and the Department of Education to approve the change, as opposed to it moving through the legislature.
