An employee of the South Butler County School District has been placed on administrative leave due to conduct involving paid days off.
According to district solicitor Tom Breth, the unnamed employee will not be paid for an undetermined amount of time following an investigation by administration into the alleged improper use of days off. Breth also mentioned that many of the rumors circulating about this situation are coming from sources that have not been involved with the investigation.
Pennsylvania State Education Association representative Brooke Witt would not comment on the specifics of the situation but she did say that there are rules associated with use of personal time. Witt continued by saying that the association would discuss the specifics of any discipline situation with the individual involved before making a determination of if a challenge will be issued though the grievance process.
The South Butler School Board could take formal action on this situation at their next meeting scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 1.
