The phone system at South Butler schools is back in working order.
According to Superintendent David Zupsic, there is no definitive answer on just what exactly the problem was with the lines, which were down for nearly a week. However, the district did suffer a lightning strike in September that could have led to damage.
Although the issue did affect the district’s new security entrance, Zupsic said that the safety of students and staff was not at risk at any time during the outage.
Tech crews continue to test the system to make sure the repairs are permanent.
