The South Butler School Board has hired the district’s next superintendent.
By unanimous vote Wednesday night, the board voted to hire Dr. David Foley to a five-year contract at an annual salary of $150,000. Dr. Foley’s official start date has yet to be determined but he is expected to attend next week’s regular school board meeting.
For the past five years, Dr. Foley has been serving as the Superintendent of West Middlesex Area School District in Mercer County. Before that, Foley was an Assistant Superintendant at Pine Richland and began his teaching career as an eighth grade social studies teacher at Seneca Valley. Foley graduated from Westminster College in the early 1990s and also attended the University of Pittsburgh, Gannon University and Slippery Rock University.
Dr. Foley will replace interim Superintendent Dr. Frank Prazenica who returned to the district in August after previous superintendent Dr. David Zupsic resigned to accept another position.
