The South Butler School Board has decided to expel one additional student who allegedly violated the district’s drug policy.
Like the three students expelled at last month’s meeting, the student expelled Wednesday night was not named. According to a speaker last month, several students used marijuana at another location before going to class on the last day of school. District administrators would not confirm or deny specifics of the incident.
According to Superintendent Dr. David Zupsic, the board could choose to take action against other students in the future if more evidence is given by those involved. One additional student has been disciplined but not to the level of expulsion.
The students expelled will be allowed to apply for readmission at the end of the first semester of the next school year. They will be given the choice to attend an Adelphoi Educational support program or the district’s cyber school.
