The South Butler School District will give some students the option of participating in a unique program next semester.
During a meeting Wednesday, the school board approved the administration’s recommendation to create a ‘College in the High School’ Theater Pilot Course through Point Park University.
Eight to twelve students who complete the necessary prerequisites will have the chance to earn college credits by participating in the program. The class will be taught by a combination of South Butler and Point Park faculty. The class will also include a couple of trips to the Point Park campus in Pittsburgh.
This program will not require any extra funding from South Butler since Point Park has received a grant from The Pittsburgh Foundation.
