Emergency crews and motorists had to contend with slick roads especially in southern Butler County during the Tuesday night commute.
Multiple calls for minor accidents and vehicles sliding off roadways steadily rolled into the Butler County 911 Center as the sun went down.
In Cranberry Township, a portion of Unionville Road was closed around Glen Eden Road and on the other side of Interstate 79 a portion of Franklin Road needed to be closed as it was called a “sheet of ice” by those on location.
PennDOT trucks were called in to give special attention to hills in the area that vehicles were getting stuck trying to travel.
