In Pennsylvania’s General Assembly, the only real contest in this year’s primary was in the 12th legislative district, which includes much of southern Butler County.
Longtime incumbent Republican Daryl Metcalfe was running unopposed and will be seeking another term this November.
Democrats Daniel Smith and Honora Rockar were vying for the democratic nominee. Smith won the nomination by 62 percent of the vote, which was about 1,500 votes.
Metcalfe, though unopposed, received 4,000 votes.
