Slippery Rock University may soon see two new majors added to the college after a vote that took place late last week.
The SRU Council of Trustees voted in favor to move forward for final approval for electrical and computer engineering degrees.
The Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education would need to approve the program but once that is completed, classes could begin as soon as fall of 2025.
These new majors would require credits in a variety of topics such as mathematics, computer science and basic sciences, and engineering topics.
If approved, this would be the sixth engineering program after a proposed construction management program.
